Tons of people and amazing food.

We started our change of destination early in the morning by taking a taxi to the airport at around 7.30. Good thing that we didn't go out on our last night in Playa Del Ingles. At the airport we ran into something too familiar you could say, it was the weight-regulations. With our ski boots in our hands and 120 euros on the airport personnels hands we did manage to get the huge stuff pile of ours into the plane. Me and Ape had to literally lean on to our ski packs with our full weight, so that we got the zippers closed.

Once we got through the security check, we had a nice couple of hours for us to chill, drink coffee and go check out some souvenirs. The Las Palmas airport is actually pretty cool, with its terraces and art-decorations inside, it varies a lot from what you would expect from a holiday resort airport.

If you ever want to go from the Canaries to North-Africa you should at least check what kind of prices BinterAir has to offer. We got our flights for a decent 160 euros per person and even with the extra weight fee, the price stayed under 200 euros. We landed in Marrakech at around 13.00 and everything went really nice and smooth. We met this one guy from Iceland, who gave us the fill out forms for the visas in advance, so we basically just walked through the passport checks and out of the airport.
At first Morocco seemed to be a pretty mellow place, but once we met our guide Rachid, everything changed. Rachid is a man in his 60's, who works as a pharmacist during the day and as a musician during the night. He seems like a crazy and really happy fellow.

Once we got to the Marrakech city center, Rachid showed us to a nice restaurant with all sorts of local cuisines. We ordered a few different courses and just tasted everything. Food here is really cheap and amazingly good. It's a compilation of different veggies and meat, with nice, kind of sweet flavors in it. Skewers are also common and a tasty snack food in Marrakech.

Rachid himself decided to go for a beer to a close by bar first and left us wondering with our mint teas on the terrace of the restaurant. In Muslim countries it is forbidden to drink alcohol, because of Allah prohibiting it. But what Allah doesn't see, Allah doesn't know and that is why it's really common for Muslim men to go into these bars with no windows, to have their daily doze of alcohol, but not everyone does this, of course. Good thing about Rachid's trip to the bar was that he fixed us an apartment from his friend, while having his beer.

Now we are sitting in our 3 room apartment and waiting for Rachid to pick us up and then we are off to the night of Marrakech.
